If in a mainstream US fleet, the chances of a manual compact rental are virtually nonexistent.

Thats the way I figure it. Thought I would ask anyway.

The last couple times I’ve asked if they had any manuals, I got “a what?” No idea what I was talking about. None.

I think the glovebox will contain a manual.

Depends which continent you’re on. Rented a manual Micra when I was in Ireland last fall.

My wife rented a car once and had to call me from the airport to find out how to turn on the headlights. There was no manual in the glovebox, and I had to look it up online.

You are more likely to get a pair of oars than a manual transmission in this scenario.

There are some rentals that let you smoke in them. Most of them don’t let you. It’s good when they go up for auction because nobody wants a car that smells like tobacco.

That’s why I like the emerald isl, no fucking clue as to what car you are going to get. Anything from a v6 mustang (YESS!!!) to a Chrysler 200. I’m going to Denver tomorrow, hoping for a Jeep Renegade or Nissan pickup.
